Rodrigo Benjamincur had to deal with a serious accident during his League Cup semi-final against Liverpool. Bentancur suffered a head injury when he fell onto the floor without threat. His location on the field caused teammates Pedro Porro to quickly summon medical attention.
The game was suspended for 9 minutes in order to guarantee an appropriate intervention from the medical team. Bentancur then was removed from the field in the stretcher and received support from fans before he was taken off.
